The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions. Both Kinesio® Tex Tape and the training protocol have shown results that would have been unheard of using older methods and materials.
What is the Scientific Research on Kinesio Taping?
There is extensive research on the benefits of this taping method. A recent study found kinesiology taping reduced the edema (swelling) in the lower limbs of patients. An extensive listing of published research on the benefits and use of this can be found at this link.
How Long has Kinesio Taping Been Used?
This method was first used 25 years ago by Dr. Kenzo Kase. Dr. Kase developed the tape, which is similar to the elasticity and texture of human skin, in response to the limitations in the taping methods of the time.
What is Kinesio Taping Used For?
Kinesio Tape is used to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, optimize performance, prevent injury, and promote improved circulation and healing.
